Projects

The Institute is uniquely placed to act as an independent voice representing professional users of broadcast equipment, and the IBS was the catalyst for the collaborative initiative between manufacturers of digital audio recording and editing equipment which resulted in the iXML specification.

People at the start of their careers (or even later) can benefit from the Mentoring scheme. This is designed for members who would like to give their time to help a colleague further their career to be put in touch with members who want the input of a more experienced practitioner.

The Institute is also an active contributor to the ongoing discussions with Ofcom regarding the changes to the management and use of the radio frequency spectrum, where it represents several hundred members who are independent users of radio microphone and associated equipment.
