Gramophone : This was “invented” by Emile Berliner in Washington and first called the Gram-O-Phone. The first evidence of a commercial “player” was the appearance in 1889 of a machine made by Kammerer & Rheinhardt of Walershausen in Germany following a visit there by Berliner.
