Control Scores

Control Scores : Orchestral, operatic and chamber music full scores issued to BBC Music Studio Managers for broadcasts and recordings for guidance in control and balance. Some music balancers used symbols to indicate “peaks”. Within BBC Radio there used to be gummed forms attached to the score which allowed balancers to record the names of the orchestra and conductor with movement and overall timings of the performance.
